Mac OS 8 (Tempo) released July 26, 1997 — Pi's most extensive single-release coverage in years. "I Brake For 8!" + "Revolution! Is At Hand" + step-by-step install guide + MacWorld coverage. The first major Mac OS bump under Steve Jobs's returning influence (Apple bought NeXT Dec 1996; Jobs not yet officially back as interim CEO that month — happens Sept 1997).
