What this is

This PDF is a Safari "Save as PDF" capture of the Washington Apple Pi Journal Showcase page at wap.org/journal/showcase. It's not an issue of the journal itself — it's the catalog that lists every issue the Pi has digitized and made publicly available, from February 1979 through Spring 2016.

The page introduces itself as: "Selected Washington Apple Pi Journals and associated material from our first four decades. These are PDF (Portable Document Format) images of complete Washington Apple Pi Journal issues. This effort is crowd-sourced from Pi members."

How this seeded the wiki

This was the first source ingested into the wiki. Rather than producing a single Entry page summary, it was used to seed the entire Entries/ folder with one stub per issue (308 stubs total) so that future per-issue PDF ingests slot into pre-existing scaffolding. See Issues Index for the master list.

Credit for the digitization effort goes to:

Notable [sic] annotations preserved from the index

The original showcase listing flags several volume/number errors in the printed originals. These are preserved in each stub's notes: frontmatter:

• May 1983 — printed as "Vol 1, No 1" instead of "Vol 5, No 5"
• January–April 1983 — original printed "Volume 5" despite some "[sic]" annotation in source
• September 1988 — printed "number 10" instead of "number 9"
• July–August 1994 — printed as "Vol 16 Nos 7, 8" combining two numbers
• September 1994 — printed "Vol 16 No 8" instead of No 9
• February–March 2008 — listed as Vol 30 No 2 instead of Mar–Apr
• July–August 1998 — typo "Augutst"
• March–April 2002 — source has unmatched parenthesis (full Journal
