Apple's VP of Product Development. Subject of Phil Shapiro's "Open Letter to Jean-Louis Gassée" in 1988-03 — V10 N03. Eventually agreed to address Pi — featured on the cover of 1989-05 — V11 N05 as "Jean Louis Gassée to address Pi". Later founded Be Inc. and the BeOS.
