Highlights

The Great Apple Lawsuit

Apple v. Microsoft and HP (March 17, 1988) — Apple's look-and-feel suit over Windows 2.03 and HP New Wave. A landmark case that dragged on for years and ultimately failed for Apple. Pi covers it from both developer and legal angles (Bill Hole and Joseph A. Hasson).

Macintosh Virus: Technical Notes

First systematic Pi virus coverage — the nVIR and Scores viruses appeared 1987-88, and Pi members need defense info. Pre-internet era; viruses spread via floppy disks.

Personal Newsletter and Publish It! — Ray Settle

Two Apple II desktop publishing packages — Publish It! (Timeworks) was a notable Apple II DTP entry.

Views & Reviews: MidiPaint & Performer — Raymond Hobbs

Mac music software — Performer (Mark of the Unicorn) became the standard MIDI sequencer for Mac.

1987 WAP Journal Index by Author Pt 1 — Harvey Kaye

Continuation of Harvey Kaye's indexing project (started Jan 1988).
