Frederick Apple Core
Pi member outpost in Frederick, Maryland — a regular column written from 1985 onward, primarily by Lynn R. Trusal, that documented Pi-adjacent Apple/Mac activity in the Frederick area.
The Frederick Apple Core column predates the formal WAP Slices Framework (Annapolis Slice debuts 1986-10 — V08 N10) but functions similarly — a regional outpost reporting back to the main Pi journal.
Pi coverage
- 1985-03 — V07 N03 — column debut
- 1985-06 — V07 N06 onwards — recurring column, often paired with Trusal's technical Mac pieces
- 1985-09 — V07 N09 — "Circle the Macintoshes" (Trusal)
Connections
- Lynn R. Trusal — primary author through the late 1980s
- WAP Slices Framework — formal Slice structure that postdates the Frederick Apple Core; Frederick may or may not have been officially chartered as a Slice
- The View from Durham (Chris Klugewicz) — a parallel remote correspondent column from a more distant outpost
