Washington Apple Pi formally incorporated as 'Washington Apple Pi, Ltd.' in October 1982 — adopting new Bylaws. Item #1 on Urban's May 1981 unfinished-business list, finally realized after years of effort.
Robert C. Platt wrote the announcement article. The new Bylaws were published in full in the May 1983 New Member Reference Book. The Maryland nonprofit incorporation paved the way for tax-exempt status, lower postal rates, and protected officer liability.
